International Students


At Willow Park School we can provide International Students an excellent education in a safe and caring environment. We can accept enrolments from international students from Year 1 to Year 6.

Enrolment of International Students

Our code of practice, rules that all young international students must live with a parent in New Zealand to study at Willow Park School.

To enrol as an international student, you will require:

  • Application Form for International Student

  • A completed application form

  • A signed student contract

  • A family register, or other document proving parent-child relation

  • A copy of passports, relevant photos and visa pages

  • Proof of travel and medical insurance

  • Payment of school fees

Once you have completed an enrolment form for your child, the school will provide an acceptance letter, an acceptance form and an invoice for your school fees payment. Once fees are paid, we will provide a letter to Immigration to help with visa applications.

Our international fee is $12,075 (inclusive of GST) plus a $300 enrolment fee.

This fee covers the cost of classroom tuition, ESOL tuition and all school trips. Additional costs include the school uniform, stationery and competition sports fees and uniform. No refund of fees will be made unless exceptional circumstances apply. Please refer to the Refunds Policy in the enrolment pack.

Willow Park School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Ministry of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from the school office or from the NZQA website at click here

Immigration

Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at click here

Health Services

Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit, you may be liable for the full costs of that treatment. Accident Insurance

The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. Further information can be viewed on the ACC website at Click here.

Medical and Travel Insurance

International students must have appropriate and current medical and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand.  Medical Insurance should be fully comprehensive insurance and cover all medical events, including repatriation.

Accommodation

Willow Park School requires that all international students live with their parents for the duration of their study at our school. We do not arrange any accommodation for parents of fee paying students. Parents must notify the school of any change in contact details including change of address.
