Our Brand

The purpose of the new Willow Park School Branding is to create a sense of pride
for our students, teachers, parents, and our community. We do this by building an emotional connection that people can resonate with and that will represent the diversity within our wider community.

Our Tohu

At the heart of the Willow Park School logo design is the incorporation of two main graphical elements that make up the identity. The Tohu (logo) and the word mark (font graphic). The Tohu is stylised to represent the community and it’s people.

The logo is also a represention of the past, present and future. The main design element is that of a stylised Willow Tree with its branches, trunk and roots representing Tangata whenua (Iwi), the land and our culturally diverse community. These elements together also represent growth, achievement and guardianship.

Below is the meanings of the different design elements within the logo.

Our School Kowhaiwhai

The Willow Park School Brand Identity has a Kowhaiwhai designed to complement the use of the logo. Kowhaiwhai are Māori motifs that are often used in art, advertising and design. They can represent values, tell stories and can help us to remember Whakapapa (family history) that is relevant to the area. We have designed our own Kowhaiwhai for our school to represent the values and cultural diversity of our school community.

Below is the meanings of the different Kowhaiwhai designs.
