Out of Zone Enrolments

In order to maintain the optimum size of our school, we operate an enrolment scheme. While those children living in our school zone have an automatic entitlement to enrolment, others need to make a special application to be considered through a ballot process. Please contact the school office for full information on the ballot process and dates of ballots. If you have any questions that relate to the out of zone process please email office@willowpark.school.nz .

WILLOW PARK SCHOOL ENROLMENT SCHEME

Out of Zone Ballot for 2024 - HAS NOW CLOSED

The board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Willow Park School for next year, 2024.

Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available from the school office or on the school website at www.willowpark.school.nz/enrolments .

The deadline for receipt of applications for out-of-zone places is Friday 13th October.

Parents of students who live within the home zone should also apply by this date to assist the school to plan appropriately for next year.

The board has determined that places are likely to be available for out-of-zone students next year in the following year levels:

Year 1: 5 places

Year 3: 5 places

Year 4: 10 places

The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.

If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by following this order of priority to fill out-of-zone places:

  1. Children who are accepted into learning support programmes run by the school (for example, special education or a te reo Māori immersion class)

  2. Siblings of current students of the school

  3. Siblings of past students of the school

  4. Children of past students of the school

  5. Children of school staff or of the school board

  6. All other children who apply.

For example, if there are enough out-of-zone places to take all children from categories 1 to 3, but not enough for everyone in category 4, a ballot will decide which children in category 4 will get to go to the school. If a ballot is required, it will be held on 16th October. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
