Hockey

Willow Park has a strong tradition in hockey.   Games are played at Crown Relocations Stadium in Paul Matthews Drive, Albany between 4:00pm - 6:00pm.  
 

The Year 3 – 4 children play in a 6 aside competition on quarter size pitches.  At this level, there are no goalkeepers and the rules and refereeing are very much designed to allow the children to learn basic skills and enjoy the game.

The Year 5 – 6 children are offered two options.  There is a 6 aside competition for the inexperienced players, again on a quarter size pitch.  Those who have played before may be entered into an 8 aside competition played on half size pitches.  This is intended to better prepare them for the transition to the full game at Intermediate level.

As always we rely on parents to help with the coaching and managing of the teams, and have always received great support.

Hockey is played in Terms 2 and 3.
