Home Learning Activities
At Willow Park School, we believe that learning at home should support our children to develop a life-long love of learning. Children do not receive weekly homework sheets as research indicates this does not generally improve outcomes for primary children and has the potential to create negative, stressful situations for children and their families.
Instead our teachers promote children reading regularly with the support of their parents. We also expect children to practise their basic facts as deemed appropriate by their teacher. Children will, at times, be asked to find information or complete work at home related to their unit of inquiry. We also encourage parents to explore the following websites that provide a fun way for children to learn at home.
